George Seybold
Mr. Seybold, a native of Boise, Idaho, has an incredibly diverse background. He began his career in service to his country by providing personal security to American and foreign diplomats as well as military leaders abroad. Serving in both Desert Storm and in conflicts in Bosnia Herzegovina he excelled as a young enlisted soldier.
Mr. Seybold exited the military to find success in one of Idaho’s largest employers, Hewlett Packard where he provided early leadership improving web-enabled workflow systems and decreasing customer service costs significantly. He went on to found his first of several companies during the dotcom boom where he and three partners attracted $40 Million in venture capital funding. He later moved the business to Austin, TX and transitioned away from the business to return to Idaho.
Most recently he enjoyed a career with Federal Way, Washington based Weyerhaeuser Company. Mr. Seybold was instrumental in the successful transition of 5 building materials businesses into a single global brand – iLevel. The change impacted $8 Billion dollars in revenue and 16,000 associates. Mr. Seybold led the online initiatives including the architecture of a new online property, www.ilevel.com, and aligning online media promotions into a unified strategic plan. The website recognized considerable growth in popularity as he set and executed his plan resulting in a 300% growth in visitor traffic year-over-year and a sustained conversion performance ratio of > 35%.
Throughout his career he has remained very passionate about the valley, which he calls home and eventually his desire to create something greater resulted in his newest start-up. Founding Seybold Scientific, he is actively realizing his dream of helping small and mid-size companies get found online and growing a sustainable and recognized leader in the online marketing community. Mr. Seybold’s short-term goals include being one of the Boise area’s best employers and creating more than 200 jobs in Idaho.
Mr. Seybold currently resides in Kuna, ID with his wife and three kids.
